Overview
Come ride a boat to the South of Puerto Vallarta (Cabo Corrietes) and snorkel at Los Arcos or Mahahuitas. You will Pass by little towns and beaches such as Mismaloya (where the night of La Iguana was filmed), Boca de Tomatlan, Colomitos, Madagascar, Las Animas, Quimixto, Yelapa… If interested, you could relax in the smallest beach of Puerto Vallarta, Colomitos, or eat in one of the best authentic Restaurants located in one of the charmiest beach in the south, Las Animas.
If you love waterfalls, Quimixto is the best option! You could get there by either walking or riding a horse for about 30 minutes. Have in mind that you will probably spend about two hours once you get to the Quimixto’s Pier, staying about 40 minutes at the waterfall!
Another place that you could visit is Yelapa; from Quimixto, it is about 20 minutes more to the south. Yelapa is a pintoresque little town incrusted in a mountain. Its norrow cobblestone hallways make it look like a puzzle where the biggest transportation are ATVs. In this place, there is also a waterfall, but its beauty can only be seen during the raining season and a couple of months after. There are several restaurants where you can enjoy a nice meal there as well. A recommendation is not to miss the famous Yelapa Pie, but if you do, you could still find it at the Snack Section of the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta. By the way, always find out the price of the drinks before you order, in many places it does not appear!
If you want to go all the way to the Waterfall of Quimixto or Yelapa, do the snorkeling, and visit a restaurant, need to reserve the boat for 6 hours. If you go to Yelapa, need to be departing one hour before to be able to get back on time and not be charged extra!
IMPORTANT:
** In High Season (Nov- May), transportation gets saturated, more opportunity if reserve before 48 hours in advance. If want to cancel and get 100% of your money, do it at least 48 hours before!
** Reservation must be done ahead of time and must be confirmed!
** You will only pay a portion of the cost to reserve the boat and will pay the difference at the pier. Please bring Cash and exact change for a smoother experience.
