Overview

Our colorful Mexico is full festivities and most likely, there is one in every single day of the year, the problem is to find them…

Besides the big parades or festivities that most people know about, there are thousands of little towns, municipalities, and colonies of cities, where people celebrate the main virgin or saint of their church. In these feasts, it is common to see processions, horseback riding, fireworks, folkloric dances, and traditional music; Mariachi, Bands or Musical Groups. Furthermore, for a fee, you could see Cock Fights or Bull Riding in a Rodeo.

In the West, North West, and North Center of Mexico, is common to see a band playing in the main stage and probably ten more playing at the same time to private groups in the same plaza. This means that you could walk around the plaza and will enjoy the music that these private group of people have hired. Yes, at the beginning it looks chaotic, unorganized, very noisy and crazy, but after a while, you get into the mood and start enjoying it. If you don’t like the music, keep walking to hear the next band; yet, to enjoy it a little more, the best thing is to have a drink in hand… Believe me, it gets fun!

This is a Big Fiesta with a Feria, you could find, souvenirs, clothes, condiments, Mexican candies, fruit waters, alcoholic drinks, typical street food…

In some places, people get fed for free; yet, they still have to pay for their drinks! This is “La Fiesta del Pueblo”, in which everyone is invited. It is the most important feast of the town that persuades hundreds of visitors, even if they live in other towns, states, and countries; especially those that are originally from the area.
